Tioga Pass San Francisco Waterfront

I had an afternoon shoot scheduled in San Francisco, so I drove over to the city a little early to take a walk along the San Francisco water front near the Bay Bridge. It was a cold foggy morning which is somewhat normal for this time of year in San Francisco.

Inyo National Forest Inyo National Forest

On the first leg of a trip up US Highway 395 with my brother Kevin, we stopped off at the Inyo National Forest and scrambled on the outcroppings to capture some images.

Manzanar Manzanar

On the second leg of the trip we stopped at Manzanar which was the Japanese internment camp. We visited the graveyard where there are still the remains of 6 individuals there.

June Lake Loop June Lake Loop

We traveled along the June Lake loop and found that the wildflowers were in bloom. There is a set of three lakes along the loop and we visited each one.

Mono Lake Mono Lake

One of the key destinations on our trip was Mono Lake. We spent a few hours along the shoreline taking images and some video. I tried out the new "Palo Alto" (A adapter that attaches to a painter pole to create a very tall mono pod). The Palo Alto created some nice elevated shots that I probably could not do any other way.

Virginia Lakes Virginia Lakes

We spent the night near Bodie and woke up earlier that the park opened. So we headed up to Virginia Lakes on a tip from a local. At over 8,000 feet, there was snow on the ground and definitely a scenic place to visit.

Road to Bodie Road to Bodie

On our way out to Biodie, we encounter some nice flowers along the way and stopped to take some pictures. We were attacked by some no seeums (very tiny mosquitoes) so we didn’t linger long there.
